Biography
| A British painter, born at Grangemouth in Scotland, trained at Edinburgh College of Art. He was one of the most prominent European painters inspired by American Abstract Expressionism; admiring works by Pollack and de Kooning. Davie emulated their scale and energy in works that were pictographic rather than abstract or figurative. He was first exhibited in 1958 in London followed by many in Europe, USA, and Canada. |
