| Altman Alexander the famous Russian artist was born in a poor Jewish family. Studied in Jewish school. When he was 11 years old, he has moved to Odessa. Since 1905 studied at home of artist Doroshevich for whom Altman worked as the servant. Later he moved to Veina, then he moved to Paris where he studied in R.Julien's academy, later his teachers in painting and sculpture were A.-V.Bugreau and sculptor J.-M.Bocher. He paint landscapes of Paris and suburbs, bay of Biscay, Biarritz in impressionistic manner. In 1908 first its personal exhibition has passed, later their works were exposed in famous Parisian Salons: Autumn, Independent, Tuilries, in Parisian gallery Devambez. In 1909-1910 the artist took part in V.A.Izdebskogo's Salon. Painting of Altman were very popular among the French public in that time, the museums, and official bodies. |
