Biography
| Amy Franceschini is a self proclaimed pollinator, born in Patterson California. She received her BFA from San Francisco State University and then went on to receive and MFA from Stanford University. Franceschini is most well known for her project, Future Farmers. This project exemplifies the overall theme in her work of the conflicts created between human beings and nature. In 2004, she co-founded the Free Soil project which promotes the use of urban spaces for community food production as well as an artist collective that has done numerous temporary public art pieces and provides a list of current residencies for environmentally based artists. Franceschini currently resides in San Francisco, CA as a professor or Art and Architecture at the University of San Francisco and a visiting artist at the California College of the Arts Fine Arts Graduate program. |
