Biography
| Antoni Gaudi was born in southern Catalonia on 25 June 1852. He spent a lot of time in nature as a child, which influenced his later career. He studied architecture at the Escola Tecnica Superior d'Arquitectura in Barcelona where he recieved less than outstanding grades except for his trial drawings and projects. He went on to design and build some of the more well known structures in Spain with the help of his patron Eusebi Guell. As a devout Catholic, Gaudi spent many years committed to cathedrals such as the Sagrada Familia. His blend of organic and gothic architecture still stands in Spain today. The Sagrada Familia is one such structure, which he unfortunately never completed and is still under construction. |
