December 15, 2005 Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, UK: An enourmous Henry Moorebronze "Reclining Figure" was stolen from the late artist's Perry Green estate.

A bronze statue worth £3m ($5.3m) by sculptor Henry Moore has been stolen from the grounds of a museum.

$11m Picasso works. A sketchbook of some 32 drawings by Pablo Picasso worth about 8m euros ($11m; £6.8m) has been stolen from a museum in Paris, police have said.
The theft from the Picasso Museum was discovered on Tuesday afternoon but the exact time and circumstances have yet to be determined.
Initial investigations showed the sketchbook was held in an unlocked display case on the first floor.
Picasso is regarded by many as the greatest artist of the 20th Century.

On the eve of the 1994 Winter Olympics, a gang of thieves break into Norway's National Gallery and make off with Edvard Munch's The Scream. It takes less than a minute for the group to break in and they leave behind a hand-written note saying, "Thanks for the poor security".

On June 12, 2008, three armed men broke into the Pinacoteca do Estado Museum, Sao Paulo with a crowbar and a carjack around 5:09 AM and stole "The Painter and the Model" (1963), and "Minotaur, Drinker and Women" (1933) by Pablo Picasso, "Women at the Window" (1926) by Emiliano Di Cavalcanti and "Couple" (1919) by Lasar Segall. It was the second theft of art in São Paulo in six months.
