Short Descrption:
Provide quality control for theatrical and original programming images. The Production Artist will be required to clean, color correct, and reconstruct photographic images for use in publications and marketing materials for their assigned projects. After this, the Production Artist will also be held accountable for ingesting the assets into the Digital Library and completing all metadata requirements necessary to supply the image to the rest of the company. In addition, the Production Artist provides the Photo Editors with technical support and must research information using available sources to complete metadata needed for assets to be ingested.
Full Describtion:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Scan and retouch images for theatrical and original programming; perform quality control: cleanup and color correction
*Reconstruct photographic images: retouch photographic negatives and prints to accentuate desirable features of the subject
*Assist Photo Editors with technical questions/support including file transfers and digital file management
*Maintain scanner cleanliness
*Upload and add metadata to assets in the Digital Library
*Research asset information using all available resources
*Assist manager with regards to back-end maintenance and development of the Digital Library
REQUIREMENTS
*Must be able to work quickly and efficiently, delivering a large number of high qualities, high-resolution photographs in short periods of time. Efficiency cannot be at the expense of aesthetics; will be responsible for the overall look and feel of each image worked on
*Technical requirements include: exceptional color correction techniques using simple, one or two step methods; in-depth experience and comprehensive knowledge of the latest version of Adobe Photoshop; expert knowledge of numeric values in RGB, LAD, Grayscale, and CMYK color spaces, experience using multiple software programs and equipment
*Will be responsible for using Photoshop expertise to digitally manipulate various photographs to the liking of photo editors, and other client groups. This must be completed while maintaining the original intent of the image
*Must be able to work efficiently and meticulously, delivering a large number of assets to the Digital Library users in a short period of time
*Ability to multi-task with several complex and demanding concurrent projects
*Excellent written and verbal skills
*Must be proficient using both Macintosh and Windows platforms
*Must be proficient using the following software: Adobe Creative Suite 3 (which includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Image Ready, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign and Bridge), Photo Mechanic, Lightroom, Aperture, Quark Xpress, Suitcase, Adobe Type Manager, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
*Preferred experience with Artesia
*B.F.A. in Digital or Computer Art preferred
*At least four years experience in photo retouching
