Art museum chooses new director

New Mexico Museum of Art curator and Arizona State University graduate Tim Rodgers, 50, has been named director of the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.
Rodgers fills the spot left vacant a year ago by Susan Krane.
He will begin in mid-December.
This will be his first stint as a museum director. In addition to his job as curator, Rodgers previously served as director of the Lawrence University London Study Abroad program in England.
Rodgers' father and two brothers live in the Valley. When visiting, he said, he frequented the museum that he will now direct.
Rodgers graduated from ASU with a bachelor's degree in fine art.
He later received a Ph.D. from Brown University in the history of art.
