Bertha Lum was born in 1869 in Iowa,USA.The artist discovered the charm of Japanese woodblock prints while on her honeymoon in Japan in 1903.Four years later she came to visit japan again,and then learned printmaking the Japanese way.Bertha Lum's woodblock prints have been very successful in Japan,and in the USA.She has made a bit of a mixed style of Art Nouveau and Japanese Impressionism.Bertha Lum died in 1954.
