Chigusa Kotani born in Osaka in 1890, and was given the name of Eiko.She has also been known by the name of Kitane Chitane and Kitani Chigusa.Chigusa Kotani was very drawn toward images of women.The artist later took her subjects from the Japanese theater.During the artist life she studied with Tsunetomi Kitano,Ikeda Shoen,and Kikuchi Keigetsu.Chigusa Kotani died in 1945.
