| Bourliouk was born in Khar'kov District, at Semirotovchtchina farm. Studied at Art Schools in Kazan (1898-99, 1901) and Odessa (1899-1900, 1909), at the Royal Academy in Munich (1902-03), and Cormon's atelier (1904), at the Moscow school of painting, sculpturing and architecture (1904-05, 1910-14), where L.Pasternak and A.Arkhipov were his teachers. In the beginning of ХХ century he became one of the lider of new course of Russian art - AVANGARG. He was one of the organizator of the first avangard exebitions: "STEAPHANOS", "ZVENO" and others. 1910 - together with his brothers, Kamensky, Kruchenih and Khlebnikov he create the group "BUDETLJANE" (later - "GILEJA"). He work as the book illusrator and the theatre decorator. He took the part in organazation of famous group "BUBNOVY VALET". Also he was the active member of many art groups and organazations at Moscow in 1906-1915. He create new art trend - FUTURIZM. In 1920 he went to Japan. In 1922 he moved in New-York. In USA he worded a lot, made many exibitions, published his own poems, prose. |
