DEADLINE: Mon, February 06, 2012 Boston Center for the Arts - Occupy 539 Location: MA Open to New England Artists Only.The Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) is pleased to announce a call forapplications for Occupy 539, a unique platform for artists to engagewith audience through public art projects that explore ways in whichpeople congregate, occupy and linger in public spaces. Artists areinvited to submit proposals for a temporary public art project thatwill be exhibited on the Plaza of the BCA campus for July throughSeptember, 2012.Artists from New England (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont,Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut) are invited to apply fora $2,000 honorarium to develop, produce and install the publicartwork. Artists are asked to craft their budget to take shipping,construction and additional support for installation intoconsideration. Proposals for site-specific temporary artwork shouldreflect the artists concerns and simultaneously explore the many waysin which the flow of public traffic is transformed.
