Biography
| After moving to Paris in 1878 and his fathers death in 1884, Vuillard recived a scholarship to the Lycee Condorcet where he met Ker Xavier Roussel, Maurice Denis, musician Pierre Hermant, writer Pierre Veber and Lugne-Poe. He left the school in 1885 and joined Roussel at the studio of painter Diogene Maillart. Eventually he passed the exam for the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and was accepted. Inspired by the synthetism of Gauguin, he joined the Nabis movement. His work is known for decorative interiors and soft, blurred colors. |
