Part-time Gallery Teacher, Education Department, The J. Paul Getty Museum

Part-time gallery teacher to teach the museum’s public programs, including but not limited to gallery talks, group and VIP tours, school lessons, teacher and family programs. Most teaching occurs in the galleries with original works of art. These programs are designed to foster an understanding of the museum collections and exhibitions and to encourage a greater appreciation of art and the creative process. Gallery teachers conduct research to generate lesson plans and public tours, and participate in staff education seminars when possible.
Qualifications: BA in Museum Studies, Art History, or Studio Art with strong emphasis on art history or education required. MA or MFA preferred. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates highly preferred. 1 to 3 years prior teaching experience required. Weekend and some evening hours required as part of a 20-hour weekly schedule. Salary commensurate with experience.

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Dean to support administrative affairs for the School of Fine Arts. Reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Academic Affairs, this new position was designed to serve as the primary representative for the Academic Affairs office. In this position you will have the opportunity to work with various school departments, including the offices of Student Affairs, Admissions, and Continuing Education. You will work closely with both faculty and students, representing the office of Academic Affairs on various projects, committee meetings, faculty concerns, and special events. You will have responsibility for supervising three departmental staff members and will work closely with other departmental staff to collaborate on annual events such as Commencement and the Annual Student Exhibition. In this role you will be responsible for all records for the Academic office, including government reporting.

PROFESSOR OF VISUAL EFFECTS (Savannah College of Art & Design)
The Savannah College of Art and Design seeks candidates for full-time faculty positions in Visual Effects. Qualified candidates should have the terminal degree or its equivalent in Visual Effects or a related field. A strong portfolio and industry experience is important. College-level teaching experience is preferred but not required. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate, by providing a video reel with breakdown, CD or website, an expert proficiency in applications that utilize procedural modeling concepts and animation techniques, specifically Houdini. The Professor will communicate the advantages and application of procedural modeling, animation, particle f/x, scripting and expressions in a Unix/Linux environment as they relate to students of diverse experiences with a focus in the various visual f/x industries. Experience teaching coursework through the web is a plus.

Qualifications required: MFA or Ph.D. in Theatre with significant acting and directing experience and College-level teaching experience.
Teaching expertise in Acting and Directing with some specialized training in Voice and Movement required, as well as capabilities in at least two of the following: Set Design, Lighting Design, Sound Design, Dramatic Literature.
Professional production experience is highly desired, as well as an interest in continuing professional involvement.
