Biography
| Guro was a painter, graphic artist, and illustrator of books. Wife of M.Matyushin. Born, studied and worked in Petersburg. She graduated from Drawing school of Acadimy of Art (1890-1893), studied at the J.Tsionglinskiy's studio (1903-1905). In 1906-1907 she studied at School of drawing (founded by E.Zvantseva), where her teaches were Leon Bakst and Mstislav Dobuzhinskiy. She participated in exhibitions since 1909 ("Triangle", "The Union of youth"). One of organizers and a member of the Petersburg's association of artists "The Union of youth", a member of a literary circle "Gilea". Died in Uusikirkko (Finland). She was jne of the most bright persones of Russian futurism and Avant-Garde at all. She illustrated famous futurist books - "Sadok sudey I" (SPb., 1910), "Sadok sudey II" (SPb., 1913), "Troe (Three)" (1913), "Roaring Parnas " (1914). Her first story "Early spring" was published in 1909. She was the author of books of poetry, plays, novels and she illustrated her books herself. |
