Elena Kohn Fine Art
Elena was born in Leipzig , Germany and was raised from the age of three in Moscow , Russia . Her Russian parents are living and reside in Moscow .
Since the age of six she showed incredible talent in painting and was accepted into the Moscow Art School for gifted children. After her graduation at the age of sixteen she decided to pursue her art career. The Art University in Moscow accepted Elena in 1985 where she studied under well-known fine art masters such as Y. Zinoragov and E. Shmelov. These instructors were some of the finest Impressionist painters that ever lived. During her university years she developed her unique impressionistic style with the use of vibrant colors and energizing brush strokes.
Elena uses traditional impressionist guidelines enriching them with exploration of shapes, lines and texture. Elena Kohn graduated Summa Cum Laude from Moscow Art University . Upon graduating from Moscow Art University she was invited to study in a Masters degree program in fine arts, which she successfully obtained. She then began displaying her personal art throughout Russia in art shows where she became well known for her traditional Russian impressionist style.
In Russia during her study years, times were difficult for women artists but she overcame many obstacles and achieved her dreams. In 1992 she immigrated to the United States and now resides in Scottsdale , Arizona . Elena is driven to share her Russian Impressionist style in her unique landscapes and glamorous portraits. Elena has painted hundreds of portraits from famous faces to the person next door. Elena’s paintings are in many private and public places throughout the world. She is presently on a campaign to show the world her collection of over 200 fine Russian paintings painted by famous Russian artists from the 1940’s and 50’s titled THE GOLDEN AGE. She is busy touring periodically displaying the Russian art in fine museums throughout the nation.
