My name is Esmeralda Melgar, Esme by nickname since third grade. I was born in El Salvador, where I lived until I turned four. I’m currently attending Maryvale High School and Metro Tech’s vocational photography program. Through out my life I’ve seen many things that in my head I always thought would make great pictures. To me photography can interpret the many aspects of all the good and bad that surround us. For that reason I feel like a simple picture can sometimes portray something more significant.
I always felt like I could mix my artistic side with photography since I enjoy drawing as much as I enjoy photography. Yet as I began learning more about photography I realized I prefer to photograph everyday scenes. My thing would either be street photography or free lance, almost the same thing if you think about it. The reason I’d rather shoot everyday scenes is because when you take a picture of a captured moment, as in not posed, and people acknowledge it as a good picture, well that’s what I truly consider a good picture. Although I’ll admit some of my pictures are photographic versions that I’ve had people pose from some of my drawings. Overall photography will always have something for us to think about!
