Just curious about the art communities thoughts on Google Sketchup?

Yeah I've used Google Sketchup a lot in my career in architecture. It's a great program in that it is very intuitive and offers the ability to create ideas of 3d spaces instantaneously. The down side is that it doesn't quite understand geometries with complex curvatures so you're slightly limited in that aspect. It also looks kind of cheesy in rendered form. But, there are several plugins which allow sketchup to work with complex geometries as well as render with V-Ray. And you can download it for free here!
