I love the series of Monet's impressionistic parliament pieces.. The colors are very serene and "easy on the eyes" I also like how the architecture blends in with the water and sky... it becomes one with everything around it. Love it!

It's interesting that you'd use the word "serene" to describe the colors when the painting is showing fire erupting above parliament.

I feel that ''serene'' is exactly the right word. Though this is a chaotic event, Monet makes it appear calming. I think it is a beautiful depiction of this controversial event.

I just did a presentation here at Art Forum on Monet's development of Impressionist techniques and used several paintings including his "Impression, Sunrise" and "Water Lilies".

The interns followed my analysis of the way Monet developed his composition, his use of color and new techniques. We are learning how to write about art also so I will send you an article that I wrote for the Philadelphia newspaper, The Bulletin, later this week.

Writing about art so that the reader will "see" the artist's plan for the painting is a great skill to develop since we cannot all be together in person for lectures and discussions.

Monet is probably my favorite artist. I love his uses of color and how they come together to create beautiful pieces of artwork.

Hi KZizo,

Haven't been here for a while....got busy with writing and tutoring. I think you would have enjoyed my Monet presentation.
