I have just seen the magical architecture of Antonio Gaudi a Spanish Modernist born in 1862. These buildings are organic and almost otherworldly. Picasso said that Gaudi most inspired him to to change his realistic style to Modernist. To describe Gaudi's buildings is to step away from the box. His forms undulate and roofs have great rounded domes. Oddly shaped windows let in incredible amounts of light. The high curved ceilings and his discerning eye for the minute detail makes his building resume' a modernist religious experience. The man was inspired by both human body and organic shapes in nature. His work is still strikingly beautiful.
