I just happened to be reading about the 2010 Art Brussels show and to much everyone's surprise the artists enjoyed brisk sales. It seems that confidence in art as an investment commodity is back in a big way. Robust investing in contemporary art is cracking into a once sluggish market. As usual the works of established artists sold well, but up and coming talent like Yayoi Kusama were a red hot purchase. Today's diverse and talented artists represent a mix of sculpture, contemporary painting, conceptual art, photography and daringly new video art. Art Brussels presented important works at the fair, gaining the interest of gallery owners worldwide. Needless to say, the 28th edition of Art Brussels turned into an unprecedented success. Most of the sales were garnered through new and returning galleries and local and foreign collectors.
