The most expensive piece of art ever sold at an auction, Picasso's "Nude, Green Leaves and Bust" was sold for over $106 million. If I had that kind of money laying around I would definitely invest it in art...but $106 million is a lot of money! What would you pay for an original Picasso? Would you consider his work "priceless?" Would you pay over $100 million for any piece of artwork? You can read about the auction here
