I was browsing the internet when I came across an odd name in Art. Norwegian Odd Nedrum was great friends with the better known Andrew Wyeth. Nedrum's classical art pedigree is impressive studying at The Art Academy Oslo, Norway and later with Joseph Beuys. A realist his paintings explored fear, brutality, hatred, sexuality, birth, death and degradation. A more sedate painting is Horse Bath.
Nerdrum’s work is in The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY and The National Gallery, Oslo, Norway.
