I love Jackson Pollock's artwork. It reminds me that there is more to art than just the finished product and that the process of creation is just as important. Although his paintings remain aesthetically appealing to me, his ideas behind manifesting such beautiful artwork are what attract me the most. The spontaneity and freedom that he gives to his application of paint and the way he engages his whole body in the process of painting makes his creations an experience, rather than a set destination so to speak...

I totally agree. Art making isn't always about the final outcome, a lot of times it is about the process of making that is more powerful. At least to the maker of the art, which is most important.

In glassblowing the real art is making it. A successful and beautiful outcome is just a bonus.

I am personally not a very big fan of Pollock. Especially after relentless discussion in an art theory class I took years ago. Regardless, I have respect for the process of making art, whatever it may be.

Even if a person does not favor the end result, anyone who enjoys art can appreciate the process of the artist.
