Thread: Been messaged through ArtFortune.com ....

  1. Exclamation Been messaged through ArtFortune.com ....

... by a potential buyer, the only contact detail provided is a gmail account, and naturally I'm wary.

This guy is interested in buying artworks from me, and is happy to take care of the cost of shipping, and wants PayPal and/or Money Order details.

The English is not good in the message.

Just wondering if anyone has received any similar messages lately? And have you got any tips on seeing if a potential buyer actually checks out? I really do not want to be scammed ....

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Orla,

Try to ask the buyer for their name and address of where they want items to be shipped to. This is something that should not be a problem if they are serious about the purchase. Also, Paypal is a safe way to make a transaction. I use it all the time. No complaints. You can send and receive money via Paypal. It's safer than providing account numbers. Only send after paypal shows that you have received "said" amount.

    Best of Luck!
