Artist Identification ??

Hi there everybody, I have an oil painting here by an artist named Ray Smith.
I find the painting stunning.

An online search has shown up 4 artists by this name, however I have had no response from any of these people.

If possible I'd like to find the actual artist and find out more details about the painting, of what it depicts, the location, when it was painted etc.

The viewable size of the painting is approx 75cm wide x 50cm high.

Does any of you recognise the painting or the artist signature ??

Or can anyone tell me more about the painting ?
