A painter from the Netherlands, known for his eclectic work based on the traditions of Jan van Eyck and Rogier van der Weyden, and was the last major painter to practice this. He was considered the leading artist in Bruges after the death of Hans Memlinc. Adrien Isenbrandt and Ambrosius Benson were his chief followers, and mass-produced works in his style.
