| Giovanni Battista Bellucci was a portrait painter of Venetian origin. He accompanied his father (or uncle) Antonio to England in 1716, as assistant, but stayed behind after Antonio left in 1722. Walpole says he did good business in Ireland, but this was a mistake for Scotland where, among others, he was painting portraits for the Earl of Haddington 1722-24, and for the Earl of Leven 1739. |
