Biography
| In 1912 he was graduated from the law faculty of the St. Petersburg University. He studied at privat art studios: in Kharkov in the studio of E.E. Schroeder, in St. Petersburg at the new art workshop under M.V. Dobouzhinskiy, B.M. Koustodiev, A.P. Ostroumova-Lebedva, E.E. Lansere. He was apart of The World of Art Group since 1915, The Four Arts. He was a professor of the higher state art industrial institute in petrograd. He also worked at the Hermitage museum. He was Peoples Artist of Russia since 1962. He created a portrait gallery of Soviet artist, writers and scientists. He got the Laureate of the State Prize of USSR |
