Jacquemart was a Franco-Flemish miniature painter working in the international Gothic style. He illuminated several sumptuous Books of Hours in the service of the Duke of Berry. His refined style is influenced by Jean Puccelle and by other prominent Italian painters. He developed a modelling and rendering of space that modified the realist qualities in which was characteristic of the Netherlandish painters of the period.
