Biography
| Johann Ludwig Aberli was a notable Swiss landscape painter and etcher. Aberli, who was established in Bern, painted mainly serene landscapes of Switzerland's lakes and medieval ruins. His way of etching in contours which were then colored or painted was later called the Aberli manner and became very popular. |
