John Daniel Bond was a painter of classical landscapes. He died in Birmingham in December 18, 1803 at age 78. He was the leading exponent of landscape at Birmingham. He exhibited a drawing after Vernet in 1761; but oil landscapes in 1762-80. His style goes back to Gaspard Poussin, perhaps via George Lambert.
