Biography
| Ecksteins was painter of portrait and domestic genre. There is much confusion over exhibiting Ecksteins disentangled by Gunnis. The painter was known to be the son of the sculptor Johann Eckstein. His father migrated to Philadelphia in 1794. He exhibited in 1787 a portrait apparently in oils, and in 1796-1802, portraits and scenes of domestic genre. Several of his portraits are engraved.
