| Baldrey is presumably the father of painting crayon portraits at Norwich, and an oil portrait in the manner of Humphry. Born 1758, his son entered school as an engraver in 1781, and they jointly formed a firm of print publishers at Cambridge (J. & J. Baldrey) at least from 1799 to 1809. The younger Baldrey was an active engraver and living in retirement at Hatfield in 1821. |
