Biography
| Laurent de La Hyre was a French painter that worked mainly in the Baroque style. He was one of the founding members of the Royal Academy. He worked with larger altarpieces, portraits, landscapes, and decorations. He trained several apprentice but never had a large studio. His work is still in circulation to this day and is apart of permanent collections around the world, including at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. |
