Biography
| Leonard (Leonid) Victorovitch Tourzhansky lived and worked in Moscow. He studied at the Baron Stieglitz Central College of Technical Drawing (1895), the Art college (1896-97), the Moscow Higher School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1898-1909). Tourzhansky was a member of the Fellowship of Travelling Art Exhibitions (1911-12), the Union of Russian Artists (1912-13), the Association of Painters of Revolutionary Russia (since 1924). Painter, landscape painter. He followed Levitan and Korovin landscape trend, Serov's rural landscape with its democracy and animalistic elements. He created, in thin color Russian North and Ural lyrical landscapes. |
