Biography
Luce, Maximilien French painter and graphic artist, he was a friend of Signac and like him an exponent of Neo-Impressionism. Although he was more painterly in his style and deviated from the interpretation of Neo-Impressionistic doctrines. His main subjects were landscape and townscape (especially of industrial areas). He was a fairly minor painter, but he is noteworthy for helping to popularize Neo-Impressionism outside France, particularly in Belgium
Maximillien was founder with Seurat and Signac of the Neo-Impressionists group.
