Our agency client is seeking an extremely creative interactive art director for ongoing freelance needs.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of professional art direction/design experience working in an agency or in-house creative department.

You will be asked to bring you digital design skills to the forefront. Flash experience would be a huge plus!

We are looking for a solid designer who can take something and run with it without a lot of hand holding. Flash skills are nice, but the design and problem solving skills are definitely the priority. This person will be working on some new biz pitches, Windows 7 and Windows Live. Definitely someone who has lots of interactive experience, print is nice, but not the priority.

The Arts Council of Fairfax County (ACFC) is recruiting for a dynamic President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide overall leadership and management for the daily operations of the Arts Council insuring its viability and adherence to its vision, mission and strategic plan. This position is responsible for the organization’s administration, marketing, financial management, community relations, program development and execution, human resources management, and, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, its fund raising and strategic direction.

The successful candidate will have 10 years of significant successful experience in the following areas: arts management, arts administration, or a related field in the arts; development and fundraising; planning, management and execution of special events and programs; significant non-profit board organization and management; creation and sustainment of relationships between arts organizations, governmental and political entities and public affairs/media representatives; and effective management of staff, employees and volunteers.

Excellent writing and communication skills are required. The individual who is selected must be highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities, and familiar with personnel and human relations practices and standards in the arts. Skills in working in a complex environment in which CEO must be responsive “upward” to a board of directors, “laterally” to a significant number of stakeholders and volunteers, and “downward” to a staff are essential. The position supervises ACFC staff, accountant, and contracted support.

The ACFC is looking to select a person who possesses a dynamic, creative, and energetic personality who can inspire both the arts and non-arts community, and has a deep dedication to and appreciation of the arts and the ability to convey such enthusiasm to others.

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to visual or performing arts administration or management is required. Salary is commensurate upon experience.

Reports to: Executive Director and President of Board of Directors
Job Description: Full-time, year-round, exempt position. The Development Director will be a senior-level person working closely with the Executive Director, Development Committee and Board of Directors. The Development Director will be responsible for developing and implementing all Guild fundraising activities, insuring the long-term stability of the organization. This will include: annual giving, major gifts, capital support, corporate, government and foundation relations, grant writing, planned giving and special campaigns. Some weekend work and travel is required.

Location: Richmond, Virginia. Candidates in Richmond preferred but will consider candidates from any location.

 Work with the Executive Director and Board to ensure that the financial needs of the Guild are met.•
 Identify, cultivate and build new relationships and strengthen existing•
relationships with donors of all kinds, including individuals, foundations, corporations and government agencies.
 Prepare new grant applications to corporate, foundation and government•
sources and maintain existing grants. Prepare final reports to funders, as required.
• Analyze historic patterns of gift-giving and develop strategies to encourage new and/or increased gifts from individual donors.
 Create planned giving opportunities and publicize them to Guild members.•
 Give written and oral progress reports to the Board of Directors, as requested.•
 Utilize mail, email, telephone direct-mail and in-person contacts to encourage contributions to the Guild.•
 Solicit program sponsorships and coordinate sponsor benefits.•
 Produce donor and prospect events.•

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following:
 Bachelor’s Degree.•
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a development or fundraising position, with a successful record of achievement in raising contributed income. Proven ability to solicit and close financial agreements with donors.
 Love of the performing arts, particularly music.•
 Strong organizational, management, multi-tasking, salesmanship and•
administrative skills.
 Familiarity using new technology, as well as traditional methods, to•
communicate with donors, prospects, the Executive Director and Board of
 Ability to understand and interpret financial statements and budget reports.•
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills. Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office Productivity Suite. Knowledge of fundraising software is a plus.
