Biography
| Marmaduke Cradock, was a painter of birds and animals in the manner of Casteels His Christian name is sometimes wrongly given as Luke. The artist was Born in Somerset, buried in London March 24th 1716. The artist Apprenticed to a house painter. Vertue , who admired his work, says he was self taught and worked largely for dealers. An example, called Cradock in 1736, was in the sale from Knowsiey, A rare, signed, work is in BAC, Yale. |
