| In 1920 - 22 Akimov lived in Kharkov, there he began to work as a set designer. He illustrated books, and decorated theatre productions since 1922 in Petrograd. In 1949 - 51 he decorated theatre productions for Theatre of Drama in Moscow, and for the Theatre Lensovet in Leningrad. From 1955 to 1968 he was the art director, producer, and set designer at Theatre of Comedy in Leningrad. His works were exhibited many times in Russia and abroad (New York, Paris, Brussels). He has been an honored culture worker of Russia since 1939. |
