| Know for his adaptation and application of Art Nouveau for modern art purposes, Spanish sculptor Pablo Gargallo trained at the Barcelona Academy. In 1911, he moved to Paris, France and became friends with Picasso. He began producing hammered sheet metal masks to explore the ambiguities of perception threw concave and convex surfaces. There have been many memorial retrospectives of his work in Paris, Madrid, and even the Venice Biennale in 1955. |
