Biography
Pavel AVEL (Pinchus) Kremegne was born in Bielorussia. During the years 1909-1912 he studied in Art School at VILNO, where he met H.Soutin, M.Kikoine. They became his friends later. 1912 he lived in Paris, where he communicated with A. Modigliani, M. Shagal, F. Leger and others. Since 1914 he was exhibited his works at the Parisian salons. Since 1915 worked in the style of moderate expressionism. He painted landscapes, portraits, still-lifes and nudes. A lot of famous Parisian art dealers bought his paintings. Before World War Second his pictures were exhibited in many Galleries and Salons in Paris and other cities, even in Moscow. After War he came back in his Parisian workshop. Personal exhibitions: Paris (1946, 1951, 1955, 1960, 1969, 1974), London (1954, 1960), Philadelphia (1958), Geneva (1969), Cannes (1974). He took part in the exhibitions "Russian artists of Parisian School" in Sen-Deny (1960) and Paris (1961), "Artists of Montparnasse" in London (1970) and many other.
