Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Bachelors or BFA degree in photography or closely aligned major. Minimum of eight years experience as a professional photographer within a creative and fast-paced environment, preferably inhouse. Excellent people skills reflecting an ability to produce within a business environment. Ability to work with other creatives, take art direction from graphic designers, contribute creatively to projects, brainstorm collaboratively and effectively with design and communications teams. Proficiency in digital photography and related resources and equipment, Adobe Creative Suites (preferably v.4), Adobe Lightroom (or Apple Aperture), digital asset and archival management, archival and media storage, applying metatags and keywords, Ability to perform optimally within high-stress, high-workload environment. Desired: Experience working within medical or healthcare environment is highly desirable. Experience managing photographic resources via digital asset management system. Complete and comprehensive understanding of image optimization, color correction and RAW and DNG files. XML data management and SEO optimization.

Serves as a staff photographer for the Photography & New Media group. Creates photographic images in support of Disney ABC TV Group original programming, shows, pilots, sports, news interviews and Special Events, MOWs, executive bios and appearances, and grand scale events such as press tours, awards shows, etc. Collaborates with external parties (agencies, freelancers, vendors, etc.) as well as internal groups such as marketing, promotions, sales, publicity, etc. to develop and execute creative concepts for shoots. Works closely with entire photo department to deliver the highest quality art in the fastest, most cost-effective and most efficient manner possible. Supports photo editing, digital lab, and other parts of photography group in realizing the creative vision of each project within technical, operational and financial parameters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Photograph scenes, actors, props, action on set. The ability to anticipate and capture the action on a set/location.
Consistently deliver top quality still images in a timely manner.
Coaches and counsels staff as needed relative to new technology and improvements in digital photography work flow.
Fulfills content requests to support creative and business requirements
Monitors and reports on status
Partners with variety of internal groups to ensure consistent messaging across formats and media outlets, including (but not limited to) marketing, advertising, promotions, publicity & media relations
Collaborates with entire Photo & New Media department to delivery on content requests
Works with studios, location scouts, electric, grips, talent, managers, etc. to coordinate shoot logistics
Maintains relationships with freelance photographers and facilitates hiring when appropriate

1-2 years photographic assisting, strong portfolio a must
Knowledge of current cameras and lighting equipment
Strong client service background and ability to collaborate well with peers and co-workers
Knowledge of digital capture, software and color management

ABC7/NewsChannel 8 is seeking a Freelance Photographer/Editor to produce high quality TV news pictures and sound from a variety of field assignments with the ability to edit that material for newscasts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have thorough working knowledge of electronic news-gathering equipment. Must be able to care for and maintain all assigned equipment, including basic vehicle care. Must be able to safety and courteously operate station news vehicles at all times. Respond quickly and enthusiastically to all news assignments. Must be able to set up, staff, and troubleshoot lives shots at bureaus, microwave and satellite trucks, and fiber locations including local arenas and stadiums. Performs as microwave truck operator as needed. One year TV photojournalism experience a must. Demonstrated ability as a photojournalist. Able to maneuver heavy equipment successfully in the field, particularly on sites with difficult accessibility. Possession of a valid drivers license and able to operate company vehicle in a safe manner. Able to attend work regularly. Available to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
