Biography
| Rachel Whiteread has cast the interior of a Victorian terraced house, its concrete form haunting the space where an entire row had been. She has made a bath out of rubber and polystyrene that has the enigmatic presence of an ancient sarcophagus, and prints that capture the implosion of monumental high rise blocks of flats, Whiteread works in the space between absence and presence, she makes the spaces and objects we think we know unsettling and unfamiliar. |
