Robert crone was an Irish painter of classical landscapes. The artist was Born in Dublin in 1718. He died in London. The artist Studied under Hunter in Dublin and won prizes 1748 and 1750. He was then sent to Italy in 1755 and was a pupil of Richard Wilson,for a short time. left Rome 1767. He developed a style which was based on the imitation of Claude and Wilson.The artist Exhibited in 1768. RA 1770-78 most of his exhibits were drawings.
