Biography
The Icelandic artist Svavar Gudnason was born in 1909 in Hornafjordur.
Svavar studied in the thirties at the Academy of Copenhagen. In 1938 he traveled to Paris, where he was briefly assistant to Fernand Leger. During World War Svavar Gudnason lived in Copenhagen, where he developed an abstract style. From 1944 to 1949 was Gudnason member of the artists group Host. Through the artists Host came in contact with Cobra in 1948.
