Takehisa Yumeji was born in 1884 and died in September 1934. He never studied formally under any painter or teacher. His wok of beautiful Japanese women were regarded as unorthodox. He gained great popularity among the common people and still has fans. At one time he wanted to be a poet but decided he couldn't earn enough money.
