| John Boultbee was a landscape and portrait painter. He was baptised in Osgathorpe, Leicestershire, 4 June 1753 and died in Great Chatwell, Shropshire, 1808. He was a twin with John Boultbee, with whom he entered school in 1775. He exhibited portraits and landscapes in 1775, 1776, and 1776-77 (the entry under 1783 was probably a mistake for his brother). He is said to have given up the professional exercise of painting and his works are not known. |
