| Probably landscape painter and restorer, known as 'MacGilp Day'. He died in 1808, aged 75. Usually confused with the miniaturist but he was probably the T. Day from Brentwood, Essex, who exh. a landscape RA 1774 and the T. Day from near Romford, Essex, who exh. landscapes SA 1783, and ended up as a restorer in poor circumstances. But 'MacGilp Day' has also been supposed to be another miniaturist, Alexander Day. |
