Biography
| Timothy Collopy was Irish portrait and religious painter. He was born in Limerick,and died London 1810/11. A baker's apprentice, who was sent by Limerick Catholics to study art in Rome for some years. On his return he painted altarpieces in Limerick and practised as a portraitist. In Dublin 1777 and 1780 settled in London in 1783.The artist Exhibited in 1786 and 1788. The artist ended up as a restorer. |
