STUTTGART.- For the current presentation, 140 prints and drawings by 21 artists were selected from the approximately 2,600 works on paper comprised by the two endowments, and combined with paintings and sculptures from the museums holdings representing artistic concepts of the 1960s to the 1980s. This perspective on the collections assets once again exemplifies the high standards as well as the diversity a museum like the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart can offer. A foundation active since 1986, the Konrad Kohlhammer-Stiftung concentrates primarily on international printmaking of the mid-twentieth century onwards. Particularly Konrad Kohlhammers acquisitions in the area of American art have contributed decisively to shaping the international status of the Department of Prints, Drawings and Photographs.
